"RECYCLEMANIA", Returns to Pensacola Beach, Saturday, October 13, 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

Island Event Offers Free Paper Shredding, Free ECUA Recycling Kits, and Giant Yard Sale on Casino Beach

PENSACOLA BEACH, FL--The “three R’s” to some people are “reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmetic,” but in the recycling world they are “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.” On Saturday, October 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Pensacola Beach Advocates (PBA) is working to focus their attention on recycling and promoting a clean environment. The “Recyclemania” event features free paper shredding, free Emerald Coast Utility Authority (ECUA) Recycling Kits, and a Giant Yard Sale located on Pensacola Beach.

Gilmore Services will provide free paper shredding, as participants are encouraged to bring up to 50 lbs. of household paper documents.  The offer is limited to residential participants only, as no businesses are allowed to participate. The Gilmore “Shredding Truck” will be located in the north end of the Casino Beach Parking Lot, on Via De Luna Drive, just past the red marked curb.
The ECUA will offer free “Recycling Kits,” on a first come-first served basis. Visitors will also see the artwork from the Pensacola Beach Elementary School “Recycling Coloring Contest.” In addition, ECUA staff members will discuss the new environmental programs offered at the Authority, and the ECUA’s “ECO-Machine” Hybrid and new Compressed Natural Gas trucks will be on display.

Lastly, the PBA is conducting a Yard Sale on the beach side of Casino Beach, located between the Outdoor Stage and the Public Restrooms. Goodwill Easter Seals will be on-site for anyone wishing to make a donation, whether or not they participate in the event.
