ECUA Employees Take a "Relay FOR Life" Ride
03/12/2011

Emotions were high and the anticipation of a big cash payout day permeated throughout “The Relay FOR Life” chartered bus on Saturday, March 12. A bright Florida sun greeted the ECUA employees as they journeyed to the Beau Rivage Casino and Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi. As the motor coach eased its way out of the Engineering Building parking lot, and onto the I-10 Freeway, everyone settled-in to begin a memorable “Ride for Life,” to help support and eliminate cancer through the fundraising effort masterfully orchestrated by ECUA employees’ Sherry Hardin and Patti Johnson.

As the coach maneuvered through the early morning traffic, the cry of “How many bingo cards would you like to buy” could be heard during the short two-hour trip. All supporters of the event received free gift bags, and many winners shared in the excitement of shouting BINGO and “cashing-in” on winning cards.

However on this special Saturday there were no losers-only winners!

Everyone got an opportunity to experience the thrill of “casino life,” and the ultimate pride of raising over $667.00 to help the American Cancer Society find a cure for cancer…

After all, it was the best way to celebrate the weekend, life, and future birthdays…
