SATURDAY RECYCLEMANIA ON PENSACOLA BEACH
03/28/2012

“RECYCLEMANIA,” COMES TO PENSACOLA BEACH, SATURDAY, MARCH 31, 8:00 A.M. to
12:00 P.M.

The “three R’s” to some people are “reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmetic,” but in the
recycling world they are “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.” On Saturday, March 31,
from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA), and Pensacola
Beach Advocates (PBA) are working together to focus on recycling and the
environment. The event features free paper shredding, free ECUA Recycling Kits,
and a Giant Yard Sale located on Pensacola
Beach.

The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) will offer free “Recycling Kits,” on a
first come-first served basis. In addition, ECUA staff members will discuss the
new environmental programs offered at the Authority, and provide information on
the April 28, “Pharmaceutical Round-Up” event.

Gilmore Services will provide free paper shredding, as participants are encouraged to
bring up to 50 lbs. of household paper documents.  The offer is limited to residential
participants only, as no businesses are allowed to participate. The Gilmore
“Shredding Truck” will be located in the north end of the Casino Beach Parking
Lot, on Via De Luna Drive, just past the red-marked curb.

Lastly, the PBA is conducting a Yard Sale on the beach side of Casino Beach,
located between the Outdoor Stage and the Public Restrooms. The Goodwill Easter
Seals collection truck will also be on-site for anyone wishing to make a
donation, whether or not they participate in the event.
