ECUA to host National Environmental Workshop May 9-12, 2012

NACWA Workshop Focused on Pretreatment and Pollution Prevention Programs in Support
of Safeguarding America’s Wastewater Systems

The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) is conducting its 2012
National Pretreatment and Pollution Prevention Workshop on May 9 – 11, 2012, at
the Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front Hotel.  The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) holds a position on the
NACWA Board, and will host the Workshop. This annual NACWA Workshop is focused on pretreatment and other
pollution prevention programs in support of safeguarding our nation’s wastewater systems.  The three-day
Workshop is anticipating an attendance of approximately 100 persons.

Mr. Buck Lee, executive director, Santa Rosa Island Authority, will provide the
welcoming remarks on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. 
ECUA Board member, Dr. Larry Walker, will provide the opening remarks on
Thursday, May 10, 2012. 

On Monday, February 13, 2012, NACWA recognized the ECUA’s Main Street Wastewater Treatment Plant Replacement
Project through the presentation of a National Environmental Achievement Award (NEAA) at the
Omni Hotel in Los Angeles, California.  ECUA Chairman Elvin McCorvey accepted the award on behalf of the ECUA.
