A Sanitary Sewer Overflow -SSO- occurred on November 3, 2025, in the vicinity of 5615 Scenic Hwy. due to an overflowing manhole that was caused by a tree root blockage. The overflow was estimated at 1,800 gallons. Bacteriological sampling has been initiated.

ECUA crews cleared the blockage and cleaned the overflow area with a biocide agent that abated any contamination concerns, per State protocol. In accordance with standard operating procedure, the ECUA notified the State Warning Point, the Escambia County Health Department, and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection at the time of the overflow.
