On Wednesday, August 31, 2011, Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) staff will conduct a system flow test and flushing of the water system that will affect Pensacola Beach residents living on Avenida 10 to Avenida 23. The preventive maintenance work will begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude around 12:30 p.m.

Residents and businesses in the testing areas may expect some fluctuations in water pressure, and some temporary discoloration of the water may occur as a result of turbulence created by the tests.  These effects should be minimal, with absolutely no ill effects to customers' health and no long-term adverse impacts on the system.  As a precaution, customers may wish to store some water ahead of time for drinking and cooking purposes.  ECUA crews will remain in the test area throughout the day, flushing lines if necessary to clear up affected areas. If customers have any questions or need additional information, they are asked to call 476-0480 for assistance.
